Fintech app Revolut said on Wednesday that it has seen over 1m customers in Poland sign up to use the Blik payments system.
Revolut only announced its integration with Blik at the end of November last year, meaning those sign ups have come in under five months.
Blik is a Polish payments system that can be used to make purchases in stores or online, take out cash from an ATM, or to send money to friends.
Settlement and payment is instant. The system resembles something like Alipay in China, or other systems, like the Indian UPI or Pix in Brazil.
Revolut’s integration with the payments system allows users to sign up within its app. They can then make payments using Blik, either to send money to friends or for paying a business.
Companies using Revolut’s business product can also use the offering to accept Blik payments.
Revolut has more than 4m customers in Poland, according to company partner David Tirado.
